Vilnius 

Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and its largest city, with a population of 542,664 as of 2015. Vilnius is located in the southeast part of Lithuania and is the second largest city in the Baltic states. Vilnius is the seat of the main government institutions of Lithuania as well as of the Vilnius District Municipality. Vilnius is classified as a Gamma global city according to GaWC studies, and is known for the architecture in its Old Town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

About Šatrija

Vilnius Children and Youth Club “Šatrija” is an open-space for nonformal education for children and young people. It was established in 1991 and today it has around 700 members. Our target group is young people from 5 to 29 years old who are looking forward to improving different skills and raising their own capacity. The friendly and professional team is helping to develop artistic skills, implement various ideas and develop new projects. We have many dances, sport, foreign language, music and art classes. We also have “Open Space” – an area which lets young people express their ideas and promote creativity.

Right now Šatrija has the second generation of EVS volunteers and you are more than welcome to join our big family. During the year volunteers will be involved in various activities and events organized by Šatrija among them are daily classes, workshops, concerts, festivals, summer camps etc. We will provide you space for personal and professional growth and opportunity to implement your own projects and ideas.
