Call for EVS to Snagov, Romania

Project name: The Next Generation 

Geo Club Association organizes this project based on a grant received from the European Union within Erasmus+ Programme. A4ACTION Association is our local partner that will be in charge of running the activities with you. We are interested to receive two volunteers from Spain, two from Italy and two from Poland to take part in an EVS project in Snagov, Romania, starting with the 4th of October 2017. During the project
duration (10 months), volunteers will have the possibility to explore and experiment how to use the internet and the new media in order to maximize access (theirs and others) to relevant information. Also, they will learn how to promote wisely and widely volunteering projects, nonformal education, the work of an NGO and Erasmus+ Programme among youngsters and the general public.

Project objectives:

1. Finding new innovative and creative tools but as well concrete methods to better promote internationally, nationally and locally, the NGO’s work, non-formal education, and volunteering in general. Implicitly this will promote the available funds and Mobility Opportunities offered by the European Union (including Erasmus+ program but not only);

2. Give the possibility to 6 youngsters from 3 countries (Italy, Spain, and Poland - 2 from each) to come to Ilfov district, Romania. They will use the nonformal education methods- which they know about, as a tool for learning new foreign languages(English, Spanish, Italian and Polish) in the work with children. this experiential, fun and attractive way of learning will be focused on active participation (learning by doing and learning to learn). Activities will be deployed in 2 schools and 1 high school from Ilfov District

3. Increase the number of youngsters that know about the concept of social media, share the know-how on how to use it efficiently.  AND create a tool that will reach many people and organizations, that will have better and more efficient dissemination of their work and of project’s results implemented by the NGO.

4. Increase the number of young people that have experience in working on Online Multimedia Platforms (websites).

Volunteers will work 5 days per week as follows:

3 days a week with young people/children in A4ACTION Youth Center or schools/high schools in Snagov community
1 day per week volunteers will be involved in social media activities;
1 day per week they will work all together in our office, planning the upcoming week and preparing the needed materials.
The total number of working hours for the volunteer every day is 8 hours, including lunch break (1 hour) and the time spent traveling to the Youth Centre/schools/ high schools.
